Our idea: creating layers
Like a colorful salad: well-balanced, diverse, vibrant – and ideally more than the sum of its parts.
Labor 519 is a non-profit association with a mobile, site-specific approach. We find places with character and closeness where cultural production, education, and encounters can happen.
We work decentrally in the Essen region and the Ruhr area. We announce the exact event locations on a project basis.

What we stand for
Culture is education, is sustainable, is social
That’s why we combine artistic, creative work with social action, education and concrete sustainability goals.
We offer:

Mediation of spaces, equipment, knowledge and contacts

Projects with a preventive and holistic approach
(“Health for body and mind”)
We are cultural practitioners ourselves – and we believe in win-win situations.
Our goal: to be enablers, create good working conditions and make diversity visible in urban space.
Our self-conception
People with very different backgrounds live in our region:
Some are new here, others deeply connected to the history of the place.
Exchange and contrasts are, in our view, an opportunity for ANY development.

Non-profit status & Statutes
Labor 519 registered non-profit association is officially recognized as non-profit and fulfills the following purposes according to § 52 para. 2 nos. 1, 4, 5 and 7 AO:

Science and Research
– Promoting scientific work, projects, events and publications. -
Youth and Elderly Support
– Supporting measures for young and older people. -
Art and Culture
– Organizing cultural events, promoting artists, preserving cultural heritage. -
Healthcare
– Prevention, health education and low-threshold health services.

Donations are welcome. We are happy to issue donation receipts and can develop a suitable funding purpose together with you if desired.
