InterInter
"InterInter connects people through music, dance, and other arts. International guests and local performers, each bringing their own aesthetic to improvisation.
A series of 10 events – interdisciplinary, international, interactive, interventionist – designed by and with 5 local curators from Essen / Germany.
Improvisation
Improvisation is simultaneously a way of life and an archaic intertwining of experiences, expectations, and hopes. Transitional states are prominently present in current socio-political themes, often providing an opportunity for new beginnings. Transitional states are not a vacuum but rather a crucial space for action. Improvisation, as perhaps the most immediate form of expression, tests the relevance of ideas, occasionally leaves statements unanswered for this purpose, and spontaneously shifts in any direction. The state is exploratory.

Why do we curate?
The five musicians from Essen are acting on a mission invited by Labor519:
"Why do we curate?
Curating allows us to contemplate the connection between the aesthetic/conceptual aspects and the socio-political dimension of our actions. It provides us with the opportunity to analyze what actually happens when people share acoustic experiences. Furthermore, it prompts us to reflect on the significance of the relationships that emerge between various actors (sound, audience, technology, etc.)."
A project within the framework of Neue Künste Ruhr, funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
